The prestige red cuvée Alberic Bouvet comes from vines planted by his grandfather in the 1940s.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;\"\u003eGilles crafts his under-the-radar wines with honesty and integrity, reflecting his roots as a grape grower with deep ties to the Rhône. With a family history of winegrowing spanning four generations, Gilles Robin started in the wine business the way many in the Rhône do: his family sold grapes to the local cooperative. Nestled against the hillsides of Hermitage and Sant-Joseph in the appellation of Crozes–Hermitage, the first vineyard was planted in the late 1940s by Gilles' grandparents, and it is this fruit that makes up his Cuvée Alberic Bouvet, named for his grandfather. This cuvée is aged in oak barrels, of which 20% are new. The Cuvée Papillon is the product of vines Gilles planted in 1996; it is aged entirely in tank to preserve its fresh and delicate fruit. The estate now totals 37 acres, including two and a half planted with white varietals and a small parcel of Syrah in Saint-Joseph. His vines are planted in the stony and sandy La Terrace de Chassis district. An understated, meticulous winemaker, Gilles farms his plots organically, believing this is the best way to honestly give voice to the terroir. Gilles Robin has truly elevated his family estate, producing wines that are powerful, elegant and precise — excellent representations of Crozes–Hermitage.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;\"\u003eCroze-Hermitage Blanc Cuvée Les Marelles. 60% Roussanne, 40% Marsanne .The Les Marelles comes from the top terroirs of the domaine: Monico, Terres Rouges, and Les Pends. The Roussanne vines were planted in 2007-2008, and the Marsanne planted in the 1980s to late 1990s. Vineyards are managed with respect for the land with plowing and weeding. Organic plant-based fertilizer and compost are used to support microbial life for the release of nutrients in the Diluvium alpine and gravel from the Quaternary era soils.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"MsoNoSpacing\"\u003e\u003cspan style=\"color: black; mso-themecolor: text1;\"\u003eGrapes are manually harvested, and the berries placed directly into the pneumatic press. The juice ferments at low temperature with native yeast, then ages for six months. The Marsanne is in aged oak barrels, and the Roussanne in stainless steel.
